Cloud Account FAQ

Answers to the questions buyers ask most often about marketplace cloud accounts, transfers, billing and responsible use.

General questions

What does a marketplace cloud account provide?

Access to a provider’s control plane and the ability to deploy and manage compute, storage, and networking resources under that provider’s terms.

How do I know which resources I need?

Map the workload’s CPU, memory, storage I/O, and network requirements, then add headroom for growth and unexpected spikes. Measure current usage when migrating an existing system.

Can these accounts be used for development and testing?

Yes. Many teams maintain separate development and staging environments precisely because of the flexibility and isolation they offer.

What should I check before completing a purchase?

Resource inventory, transfer process, billing status, credential-reset capability, region, and alignment with provider policies.

How should the account be secured after transfer?

Immediate credential rotation, multi-factor authentication, firewall review, software updates, and continuous monitoring.

Does purchasing through RunCloudMarket create an official relationship with the cloud provider?

No. RunCloudMarket is an independent marketplace. The service relationship remains between the account holder and the cloud provider.

Are all listings identical in structure?

No. Listings vary by provider, resource profile, and seller documentation. Always review the specific details of each offering.

Buying and transfer

What exactly am I buying?

Access to a cloud account with the configuration stated on the listing. Each product page sets out the configurations available, the price of each, and what the environment includes. RunCloudMarket does not operate the underlying cloud platforms.

How do I know a configuration will support my workload?

Map the workload first — vCPU, memory, storage, region, and any service limits you depend on — then check that against the listing. If a detail is not stated, ask before ordering. We would rather tell you a listing is unsuitable than sell you one that is.

What does a complete ownership transfer involve?

Control of the identity, the recovery options, the multi-factor enrolment and the billing relationship, plus revocation of any machine credentials such as API keys and service accounts. Logging in is not the same as holding the account.

Do account limits and quotas transfer?

Service limits belong to the account and region, so an account with approved increases keeps them. They do not follow you into a different account. Always confirm limits in the region you actually intend to deploy to.

Are credits the same as capacity?

No. A credit balance offsets charges. It does not raise service limits, unlock restricted services or open restricted ports. An account with a large balance and a low instance ceiling will hit the ceiling first.

Security and responsibility

What should I do immediately after a transfer?

Rotate every credential, replace the recovery email and phone with your own, re-enrol multi-factor authentication, revoke every API key and service account you cannot account for, check all regions for running resources, and set a budget alert before deploying anything.

Who is responsible for how the account is used?

Whoever operates it. The provider’s acceptable-use policy applies to you once the environment is yours, and it governs what may be run and how email may be sent. Marketplace availability does not modify those terms.

What about data protection obligations?

They follow the data. If you process personal data on the infrastructure, the obligations — lawful basis, transparency, retention, security and breach notification — are yours regardless of where the account came from.

Is RunCloudMarket a partner or reseller of these providers?

No. RunCloudMarket is an independent marketplace. It is not affiliated with, authorised by, sponsored by or endorsed by any of the cloud providers named on this site, and the service relationship after transfer remains between the account holder and the provider.
